If you are planning a public event, fire safety and organised local response is always a major consideration. As an event organiser it's your responsibility to ensure the safety of your patrons, taking chances where people’s lives are concerned is not an option. Cover can be arranged in either 12 or 24 hour periods, with standby being given during the day, evening or a combination of both.

For both insurance and legal reasons it is required that event organisers have adequate safety measures in place and Fire & Rescue New Zealand can be there in case that worst case scenario occurs. With extensive emergency management experience, Fire & Rescue New Zealand will tailor its comprehensive services to meet the individual needs of your event, ensuring the crews and appliances are there when the risks are at their greatest.

We can offer a crew and equipment on a contract basis at the hirer's expense at very competitive prices. Fire & Rescue New Zealand provides realistic and cost effective solutions ( personnel and equipment) to fit the needs of your event, be it only for half a day, two days, a couple of weeks or on a long term basis, we can provide a service to meet your needs.

FIRE SAFETY COVER SERVICES

CONTRACT FIRE FIGHTERS & EQUIPMENT

As well as providing specialist advice in all aspects of fire safety, Fire & Rescue New Zealand can also offer the services of professionally trained firefigthers and the latest firefighting resources. All Firefigthers employed by Fire & Rescue New Zealand are trained to the latest Standards. Combining the use of Firefigthers manning the latest equipment will ensure that your event, no matter what size will be well protected against the devastating effects of fire.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER HIRE

As well as our fire engines and fire crews, we hold a very large stock of all types and sizes of modern fire extinguishers. They are available for hire for any period from 1 day to 3 months. In addition, a large stock of Fire Safety signs is maintained to complement the extinguishers at fire call points, as well as self contained fire call points and fire alarms. Our Fire Safety Officer will advise on location and number/type required and our on-site personnel will ensure they are available around the clock.

EVENT FIRE SAFETY

Working with you, assessing your needs and any risks that may be involved to ensure a safe, secure and successful event for you and the general public.

EVENT FIRE SAFETY RESOURCES

Event organisers must assess their event for fire risk and take the appropriate precautions. We can supply anything from fire extinguishers to one or more fully equipped fire crews to provide a simple but highly effective service. 

We have experience in a wide range of events, and can cater for any size, any terrain, any location, often at short notice, and not just fire cover. We work with the event organiser before the event to ensure the right level of fire cover is provided, with crews on call for the duration of the event to provide first response assistance with any incidents. Our team can provide cover for any period of time using vehicles and equipment suited to the setting and requirements of the event.

FILM TV PRODUCTION FIRE COVER

Fire & Rescue New Zealand can provide safety cover (crews & vehicles) for both sides of the camera, for any purpose in particular members of the stunt and special effects teams. Our team will work with producers and camera crews to achieve that perfect shot, whilst also ensuring the safety of the production from fire related hazards. 

As well as first response fire cover, we can provide wet downs and extinguisher hire, whether it be for an entire shoot or just particular stunts. Our "operational" fleet can provide you with the peace of mind that you have us should the worst occur, but we also can supply period fire engines and equipment to suit any productions requirements.

TV AND FILM WORK

Fire & Rescue New Zealand is available for TV and Film work, whether it be for special effects fire cover or in shot work or off screen. We can supply firefighters, health and safety advisors, technical advisors, props and uniform. Our modern vehicles and trained fire fighters would not look out of place in any production.

ON-CAMERA SERVICE

Fire & Rescue New Zealand is available for in shot work. We can supply male or female fire fighters, specific equipment, action vehicles, props and uniform hire. We can also train your actors on a role they may be carrying out to ensure the fire service is accurately depicted in your production and we are also happy to comment on any story line you may have. Our modern vehicles and trained fire fighters would not look out of place in any production

OFF-CAMERA SERVICE

Fire & Rescue New Zealand can provide fire crew for special effects fire cover for fire scenes or explosions. We can provide fire engines and water tankers for set wet downs and rain water effects and can also provide first aiders and advanced medical cover for on set

WATER TANKER HIRE

We can transport large amounts of water for events where access to water is restricted, perfect for such events as Steam Engine filling, Agricultural or Industrial events. Can be used in conjunction with various dams we hold in stock.

MOTOR SPORT EVENTS

Fire & Rescue New Zealand can supply a Paramedic, 4 x 4 Rural Fire Appliance and Command vehicles for off road courses and full size fire engines for race track circuits.

PRODUCTION HEALTH & SAFETY

Fire & Rescue New Zealand can provide both health and safety and technical advisors to ensure the safety of your cast and crew is not compromised while achieving the best results possible.  We are fully qualified to write risk assessments and safe systems of work and can advise on what types and amount of cover are required, thus reducing the burden on the producer.

BE A FIRE FIGHTER FOR EXPERIENCE

Fire & Rescue New Zealand’s  FIRE FIGHTER  for a day experience, ideal for team-building and, groups of friends.  Ever thought of being a rural fire fighter?  Well now you can, so step into your boots, put on your fire overalls and fasten up your helmet   you will have the chance to try your hand at all aspects of being a fire fighter for a day!   The day includes full use of all fire and rescue equipment, real fire fighting, breathing apparatus wearing in confined spaces and a final major incident to handle. You will be trained by a team of rural fire service qualified instructors.

FLOOD SALVAGE SERVICE

We have the ability and experience to pump out flooded areas using our fire engines and our portable pumps. Further assistance can be given in terms of securing or sheeting up storm damaged buildings and roofs and the provision of emergency lighting. We are available at short notice (Operational commitments permitting) for both domestic, Industrial or Commercial sites

COMMUNITY EVENTS & DISPLAYS

Why not get a real red fire engine to add some excitement. We can provide a display or a "firefighting" side attraction. Perfect for the kids!

WEDDING HIRE

Our fire engines are also available to take the bride and/or the groom to a wedding and reception.
