CONFINED SPACE ENTRY & NON-ENTRY RESCUE TRAINING
TARGET AUDIENCE – Designed forthose new to confined space entry requirements, or simply as a refresher,who are required to perform confined space entrant, attendant and standby emergency duties.
AIM –This programme has been designed to impart knowledge and awareness of hazards within Confined Spaces and skills needed to carry out risk assessments, develop safe entry procedures, complete entry permits and physically demonstrate competency to enter, work in and rescue a casualty within a simulated confined space environment using provided confined space attendant, entrant and rescue equipment.
NZQA – This course is a practical based programme that uses predominantly hands on adult learning techniques to meet identified learning outcomes of the following unit standards:

PREREQUISITES –The expected duration to complete this face to face course is 8 -10 hours+ precourse assignment.
COURSE FEES – This service is delivered on a Flat Fee for this servicebasis, at a cost of $1400 + GST per course, for up to 12 staff at your site. This fee covers the cost of professional tuition, assessment, use of equipment, certificates & reporting of credits to NZQA. A travel and accommodation surcharge will apply for bookings outside of Hawke’s Bay.
COURSE CONTENT – This one day ‘Hands-On” practical knowledge and skills programmecovers understanding of legislation, Standards and OSH Codes of Practice relating to confined space entry, withdrawal and rescues.
PRACTICAL EXERCISES – Finally we tie all the theory into a practice by allowing participantsto monitor confined space atmospheres, plan an entry, then enter, complete work, withdraw from and perform rescues from a confined space.This provides participantswith an opportunity to practice duties, test procedures and experience using life safety and confined spaceequipmentutilised in their place of employment.
ASSESSMENT – Progressive theory and practical assessments throughout the course, based on the NZQA assessment criteria of each unit standard, including oral questions relating to underpinning knowledge and practical confined space entryskills ina range of simulated emergency situations.
CERTIFICATION – On successful completion of the assessment conditions graduates will be awarded a Confined Space Entry certificate and credited with the above unit standards to validate that they have received structured training in accordance with the procedures on safety and operation set down by the host employer pursuant to the requirements of the Health & Safety in Employment Actand AS/NZ 2865 (2009) Safe Working in a Confined Space.
