The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has awarded Fire & Rescue New Zealand the highest rating a Tertiary Education Organisation can receive for its educational performance as a result of its finding during the External Evaluation and Review (EER) of Fire & Rescue New Zealand in December, 2010.

The purpose of this external evaluation and review report is to provide a public statement about Fire & Rescue New Zealand in its capacity as a private fire service and Tertiary Education Organisation (TEO) regarding educational performance and capability in self-assessment in accordance with the requirements of course approval and accreditation under sections 258 and 259 of the Education Act 1989.

The external evaluation and review report forms part of the accountability process required by Government to inform investors, the public, students, prospective students, communities, employers, and other interested parties. It is also intended to be used by Fire & Rescue New Zealand itself for quality improvement purposes.

The NZQA findings are Highly Confident for Fire & Rescue New Zealand’s educational performance and Confident in its self-assessment capability.  This is the highest rating given out by NZQA, and has earned Fire & Rescue New Zealand’s the maximum four yearly review period (December 2010 - December 2014).

Fire & Rescue New Zealand is delighted to receive the positive acknowledgement of our high quality education practice.Achieving this level of external quality assurance reflects the commitment Fire & Rescue New Zealand has to its students, staff, and employers and other stakeholders within our coomunities of interest.
