IFEX 3000 INPULSE FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM
Introducing the IFEX 3000 Impulse Fire Extinguishing System, a high pressure, impulse (shots), mobile, directional water mist firefighting system which has been designed for use by the Urban, Industrial, Rural, Marine and Airport Fire Fighters and workplace emergency response teams. Fire & Rescue New Zealand is thrilled to provide government agencies, rural fire authorities, forest owners and mining companies with access to a revolutionary fire control system , both effective and efficient, that has no rival in the traditional product mix of fire suppression equipment. The IFEX impulse technology is based upon the principle of discharging small amounts of water fired right into the seat of the fire in high velocity vaporous bursts that can travel up to 120 meters per second, causing a strong cooling effect that absorbs heat. In principal this is achieved as air resistance acting on the water stream breaks the water droplets down and reduces the normal mean droplet size from about 700 microns to an average of 100 microns, thus reducing the temperature in confined rooms from a deadly 1000°C to 40°C within seconds. That’s how efficient the system is and how effective high velocity water mist is at absorbing heat and suppressing the fire. The IFEX application consists of an impulse gun and a backpack unit with a 13 Litre water reservoir, air pressure cylinder, regulator and flexible hoses with snap on connections. It is therefore an ideal for rapid intervention and initial attack on a fire, to control it and prevent it from growing and spreading.
“The IFEX Impulse Fire Control System will ultimately improve life safety and property protection today and tomorrow” said Fire Chief Simon Osborne of Fire & Rescue New Zealand. Please email simon@fire-rescue.ac.nz if you require more information or would like to book an IFEX demonstration
